Drew for a Fall Contest. Here is the description I listed under it
Also called the Helicopter Seed Sprite, or Samara Sprite, and not to be confused with Maple Leaf Sprites, or Maple Sap Sprites. These small creatures develop slowly among maple seeds, where they sleep soundly in the Spring and Summer. In Autumn, they’re old enough to leave their homes, and fall among the other seeds, and twirl among them to reach the ground, where they claw through leaves and dirt to reach the Fairy Plane under the Earth, where they can meet their fellow mature sprites. These sprites are incredibly hard to find, as they are small and commonly mistaken for large insects at first glance, but they are not impossible to capture. Maple Seed Sprites can live up to 7 days in containment, provided they are given enough sugar water, and are played with by spinning through the air. But they cannot be separated from the Fairy Plane for too long, or they will wither up and die. Despite their names, Maple Seed Sprites can also be found on some other species of tree.
