And a Romanized Sphinx as well! Also taken in the Vatican Museum in September 2002. Note the naturalism over the stylistic design of the Egyptian one. Think I still prefer the Egyptian-style one though, even if this one DOES have wings...Related content

There is a colour difference there, but that's most likely because it was either carved from seperate pieces of stone, (unlikely) or broken and restored at a later date. (very likely) The things you learn in Greek Art...

I like this one...but I thinks it's because it looks kinda like they took a statue of a dog....lopped it's head off, and put a ladies head on insted...cause it looks like their's some color difference...but...that could just be the lighting...eh...anyway....This Sphinx could soooo kick the other sphinx ass... cause...ya know...it's got the wings...advantage!
