Description I did not really bother making it into a real map per say. Its just sort of all squished in with larger images being larger influence....mostly. >>

1. Brom Though I never knew who he was until a few years back, this guy shocked and amazed me with the most drool-worthy and dangerous characters. I first found his work around 2001, when I first 'discovered the internet'.

2. *ahkahna : Another artist around 2001 that I found plenty of. Most of what she did seemed to be dragons at the time, and her special species was one of the single most helpful sources for helping teach me to draw creatures like dragons. Her art has come a long way, but I still enjoy her outdated stuff.

3. *darknatasha : 2001 again. Probably the first real examples of Anthro or furry art I had ever seen. I have to say that MOST of her stuff was/is not my style or taste, but the ones I did like had such an amazing softness and regalia that I have a hard time not mentioning in some form.

4. =GunnerRomantic : Here is where I say "OMFG". I only found this artist on DA after I joined, but this particular artist snapped the most influential branch in my brain. I don't think my work would be evolving at the rate it is without this artist's work to inspire me. I don't know much about them personally, but I don't think I'd want to, for some reason.

5. Blaqriot/~Emryswolf : Another artist I found in 2001. I have never been a wolf fanatic, but she could make anyone love them. The raw feral and ferocity, and all those fangs, claws, curvy joints and tight muscles ready to pounce and shred always got my mind working on that primitive level when working out the feeling of a creature's level of danger. Everyone seems to love how I draw feet. Well...go look at her. I was addicted to her critters hands and feet. lol

6. The Neverending Story: I'm not sure if this film really inspired my art much in form, but it came out the year I was born and has always been one of my favorite films of all time. I think its influence is more spiritual in a way, and could have helped shape how I write for my concepts and worlds.

7. Beauty and the Beast: Um. I was like....6 when this came out? This movie really brought out my romanticism as a little girl. You have no idea. Then again, maybe you all do. Mopey royal cursed to be a monstrous thing, antisocial, argues and has violent tendencies...and falls in love with an eccentric young girl who gets completely used to him to the point of also falling in love? Yup. There you go, and here I am.

8. Tarzan: Obvious influence is obvious. Not only did disney make a movie about another beast-minded man with anamalisic tendancies... but he is almost nude, and oh so amazingly muscular and full of emotional and personal quirks that set him apart from most reasonably normal characters. This movie did not spark anything new that wasn't already rattling around in my head...but it sure was the visual stimulus I needed to kick-start more of my own style. Must love the taut muscle and overly-serious and expressive facial features. *3*

9. Animals and Nature:Anything from Crocodiles, to eagles and goats, horses, elk and countless other animals that I admired and studied as a kid. Real animals have always been my basis, because quite frankly, not everyone grew up with the internet and being directly inspired from the start by other fantasy artists online.

10. Vampire Hunter D :-Insert fangirl squeal.- Nah, not really. In 2005 I rented the VHD Bloodlust anime, and was...mentally scarred? I thought it was shockingly extreme. later that year, I found it on DVD with what was a first version of a VHD anime from '85. I watched the first one 13 times in one day, then alternated between them another 24 times. Somewhere in the 32nd viewing of bloodlust that week, I saw in the end of the credits that it was based on a novel. 2006,(i think) I was standing around in the comic book store next door to where I work, holding a dozen black white and red balloons for the occasion as I purchased the first of the original novels...which had just been translated to english for the first time. I plotzed. Every single VHD novel I own has been read several times, and is cased in plastic, and amazingly appears to be in mint condition, even after 5 years. I can easilly say I have a small shrine dedicated to it. VHD bloodlust is my favorite anime of all time, along with Howl's Moving castle...but it is the original books that inspired me most, because I enjoy what the author was creating, and respect his versions of the character and story first and foremost among all art and concepts related to VHD.

11. Dinosaurs:I was, am, and forever will be a lover of dinosaurs. When I was in preschool, I was always the one that bolted straight to the shelf of plastic dinos to claim them all for myself. Thats all I wanted out of everything, though I would eventually share with anyone that wanted to play dinos with me. Most of my art in school before 6th grade was dino related, and always won high praise. I knew more about them than anyone else, and was always able to prounounce their names and list them off. When Jurassic park came out, I became even more famous among kids...and was on top of the dino world, especially since my initials were JP. My favorite images of dinosaurs where the dark ones, with foreboding scenery or sudden bright colors in a highly detailed and dark surrounding that made them seem more like monsters in fairytales.

12. Wayne Reynolds:An amazing artist of Dungeons and Dragons and other fantasy work. His pictures are always so dynamic, crisp, colorful, and yet dark to the imagination. His poses alone feel second nature to the style I have buried in my mind...though digging them out and properly expressing them in my art is a constant challenge.

13. Jackie Estacado, The Darkness(the earlier years) - Marc Silvestri:Around 2006, I found a comic book store just next door to where I worked. I had always dreamed of hanging out in one. If you have never had the chance to collect comics, but have always wanted to...and have limited cash...you would probably say to yourself what I did; "One...comic...only....to obsess about." I Knew that in all of those endless titles, I would find just the right one to buy up every week and create a loving and geeky stash of in my room. It took a few tries, but 3rd time was the charm. I found The Darkness, and it fit my tastes amazingly well...if not frighteningly perfect. The amount of gore in this comic was new to me, because I had always thought comics were a bit more kid-friendly. No? Okie dokey with me! I bought the trades available,(collections of backissues in 1 thick book) and then began to buy up individual backissues...which some were up to 10 years old now, and up to $15. I bought them. Crossovers were in my mix when I could find them, but I fear the Batman 1 shot crossover will always escape my grasp with its rarity and price. I will stop ranting about this part now, but will add the fact I hate the Darkness game, because it single handedly destroyed all the things I loved most about the earlier years of the comic, plot-wise and design-wise.

14. *beastofoblivion :This artist one of the most impressive and inspiring to all of us in the DA circles I travel in. The picture I specifically showed here, always has me staring. I love it, love her work, and the extreme dynamism in her poses and style. This picture gets me more than the rest, because I actually have an ooold drawing from years ago, somewhere in my stuff of one of my Ellgon doing a very similar pose...though very naughty, and yet also an anatomical study. No laughing plz. At times, my art from 5 or 6 years ago totally pwned my art now. I kid you not. :U

15. Andelites/Animorphs by K.A.Applegate:I have always had the most difficult time finding books that I really enjoy. In 6th grade, I didn't care for goosbumps, Nancy Drew, boxcar children or anything like that. They were as exciting as watching grass grow, in my opinion. Actually, I like grass better. ANYHOW, lets speed this up. Animorphs were everyday kids that gained the ability to change into animals, from alien technology. Through about 80 books(of which I only read up to 54), they grew up, had familly turned into mind slaves by the slug-like villains called Yeerks, they ran missions and tried to hide while living their normal lives, they flew about space and other worlds, fought entire armies or ran secret missions, nearly got killed left and right(which is why I started getting bored after 54 books) and became cool enough to get a tv show (that majorly sucked balls) and transformer toys(never had any) and so on and so forth. The real parts that grabbed me out of all the books though, were the Andelite Chronicles and Hork-Bajir Chronicles. Those books were all about the early years of the aliens, and had no human teenage kids to deal with. There were even mild romantic instances that I thought were well blended. :>

16. The Labyrinth:Other than an amazing fun fantasy adventure about good conquering evil, and making strange new friends in a magic world... I give props to Jareth. He is sparkly and snobby, wears fancy clothes, sings, and is yet a charming and dangerous evil bastard you would rather see smile than make angry. He is one of the few men that you can piss off and yet love his tantrums. He is the epitome of a villain who you Love to hate... or at least make pouty faces at.

17. Lord of Darkness from Legend (Tim Curry):Its time for lessons in Jerep's obviousness again. I would tap that. Darkness is another gem from '85, and move that is another epic romance with danger and beauty. Darkness is a towering behemoth with a classic distaste for good, and manner that can be manipulative as sin, or manipulated if he's given what he wants. I am guilty of this character inspiring me in a number of ways... although Legend was just one more perfect piece that fit was already growing in my mind. First having seen this when Iwas about 12 or 13, Darkness and his dangerously seductive ways and urge for power was indeed the fuel to throw on my fire.

18. Dinotopia, by James Gurney:I saw the books and pictures in the early 90s, but never owned them. Being a dinosaur fanatic as a kid, the mere images alone were burned into my brain whenever I thought of how people and animals could live in peace. I'm happy to finally own most of the books, and I treasure each of them.

19. *sparkbearer My best friend, and RP buddy, she has been near the soul driving force inspiring me to keep going with my art and its stories. Not only is a stunning photographer, but she is a wonderful person to know, and I am grateful to know her...even if I have never met her irl. If I had never met her in chatrooms on DA...then every one of my Ellgish guys and every part of the Amognoxian universe would still be stuck as old and underdeveloped ideas burried in my head and pictures getting dusty in folders in my room, never to be scanned.

I hope you all enjoyed my epic description. >3> heh.
Art(c) To their respective owners, and with great respect and thanks to all the inspiration they have given me. I owe them all a tiny part of my artistic soul. <3

I completely agree with on 17. Darkness is the utter pinnicle of awesome.

I also loved Dinotopia! So many pretty dinosaur pictures, and when I learned to read, even better! I was also a dinosaur fanatic.
