This photograph has a lot of "hidden" meanings. The business-man is chained to a clock to emphasize his hasty life-style. He doesn't see that the time is ticking along, as he is always busy. That's why he is blindfolded. The misstress is being so dark, because she represents time, and time is an abstract subject, so therefore she can't become too concrete. Behind her back the misstress holds a sandtimer, which corresponds with transity and the passing life of the chained man. The big clock is inspired by Dali's melting clock. The picture was made for a schools assignment, theme powerless. We are all powerless against time...
