I want a rug like that for my living room! Great perspective James, and I like what is happening with the light, trying to figure out how Breeanna is so well lit, and still casting a shadow. The impression I see is she is illuminated from the side of the shot, but the shadow suggests above and slightly behind. I love it when an image makes you think

Mark,
You've hit the nail on the head, you are good at studying light and shadow, a skill I often employ in learning from other photographer's lighting. The trick is a hard, direct light from above and behind her, by her feet. And a big soft box close in front, which casts virtually no shadow, but illuminates her evenly and brightly.

Thank you. I think this shot is unique, and I always like a shot that is unlike any other image I have. The lighting breaks some conventional rules, but I really don't care ^^!

Well, I think the lighting totally works with this shot. It is all in place, the pose, the light... just everything. And yeah, it is unique, that's why I just love it!
