This is true - as a retired combat photographer/videographer, things were NEVER as scary through the lens!

Surreal, we just have rain clouds here, a lot of them most of the time

"Surreal" yes, I'm told that our clouds in the midwest are some of the most spectacular in the world. They also breed more tornadoes than anywhere else in the world. I myself have been in 5 or 6 tornadoes, but never one that I actually got to see. A couple of them came at night. A couple more made the day as dark as night before they arrived (yes really as dark as midnight). One came in the middle of a rain/hale storm. I was looking out the window to the back yard, seeing the trees almost leaning to the ground in 100+ mile per hour wind, telling my wife and some guests that we should probably get in the basement. Just then my brother in law says, "your big willow tree just went." It was 50 feet tall, just about that distance from the window. I looked out in time to see it get ripped out by it's roots. So, yes, been in a lot of them, never saw the funnel damn it! This storm in the image only produced a little rain, I was expecting more!
