Description
Edit: I don't know why I stored this, now it's back out again.
Disclaimer: I am no water color expert. In fact I was experimenting here.
Done with two brushes - size 0 script linear brush and a size 1 round brush.
Hope this is useful to someone.

you can paint something while it is still wet or you can paint after dry, but of course they give different results. these are techniques that you'll have to experiment on your own for that. thank for asking though

this is one of the better tutorials i've seen!! i've always wanted to use watercolours well but i can never do it so i'm hoping this will help! i'm amazed at the fact that you use so few colours and brushes but create work like that!

wow this looks great AND it's a helpful tutorial!
(i love the chick! The purple hair turned out better than the orange/red-contrasts nicely with the red jewel things and her green outfit-makes more sense with the night time scene. The outfit is awesome too!)

there isnt much of a difference in terms their quality. both can make the same painting but both will have their own techniques. for the paints, they give you the advantage of using various types of brushes to bring out different textures with a combination of other methods. while the pencil does not need a wide variety of brushes. pencil does not allow you to do wet on dry or dry on wet washes like paint. that does not mean that pencils are bad. they do give you the ability to make nice blends of colors after adding the water to it. both independently can still make decent works. you can actually use both together too.

Wow...this is great and the angel girl is BEAUTIFUL! Great job! Also, I love the purple hair.
I think it makes more sense because it looks like she's sitting on that pillar at night.

Thanks for the tutorial... makes me wanna try it out. Think it's time for me to learn some colouring
Rather undecisive about the medium to use: colour pencils? markers? paint? digital?
Hmm... or maybe I should go learn shading first??...

your welcome well...digital is different than traditional coloring. for me,i still prefer to do things by the normal way of coloring rather than with digital medium.but it is good to start with traditional because it enfources the idea of not making too many mistake while with digital medium you can always undo when you make a mistake.
