Jia Lu 2011, Compassion Series: Invisible World, oil on canvas, 24 x 24 inches.Here is another painting in my Compassion Series. Traditional Asian medicine and natural philosophy describe the circulation of qi ~ energy or spirit ~ and modern science has revealed our life depends on a world of miniscule creatures that live in the air and water, even in our own bodies. We live in a compassionate universe, protected and nourished by millions of other lives, like whales afloat in oceans of krill. I am ever mindful of this gift and our responsibility to preserve it in return.

After purchasing several of Jia Lu's limited editions I decided I needed an original. This is the one I chose. When I saw Invisible World it reached out and grabbed me. I'm delighted you will be collecting this original. I know my galleries are working on getting it to you, thanks for your patience over the holidays! I am especially pleased with how this painting worked out - I have been trying to keep my brushwork loose and impressionistic, which turns out to be much harder than it looks, and I think I found the right balance between tight realism and loose impression in this work. I hope you will enjoy it! I would love to hear from you again after it arrives.
