Osiris! That is a great pic of him. It totally captures the fact that Isis put him back together after Seth cut him up!

Oooh I like Ossie...with the green-ness and the stitches, seems a bit like a better looking version of frankenstein :lol And he was brought to life too...hmmm
Insightful/pointless analogies aside, I love this pic of Osiris. I love Egyptian myth and I really like Osiris-yeah i know he looks like a scary green mummified death god, but he's awesome-hasn't he got a fertility aspect? I don't know how a fertility aspect goes together well with a death aspect, it doesn't really make sense...but still he's cool, I don't see many pictures of him...he seems so underrated round here compared to Anubis

Osiris was the god of agriculture, and also the king of the gods. until he was murdered and hacked to pieces by the god Set. Osiris' wife, Isis, found all the pieces of his body and she and Anubis put him back together and to bring him back to life, they created rituals which now make up the Book of the Dead. Osiris was mummified and returned to life in the afterwold. But not until after Isis had ah... had a bit of fun with him, the reuslt of which was Horus. Osiris was told he could not leave the land of the dead, even thoughhe was a god, so he is now the god of the underworld. orus avenged his father's death and banished Set, taking his fathers place as king of the gods.

o.o wow, sweet! heh. those Egyptian Gods were as freaky as the Greek Gods, then, I take it, huh? lol. Niiiice! ^_^ thanks for the lesson. hehe. ^_^
