Dude, I really love that movie. There has been a lot of weird imagery in the film that almost no one understands, but I just see it as entertainment.

I totally missed that the title was referencing his like of pears...
and yes, I've been told by the non-futile individuals about how the entire experience achieved him to begin to choose something besides destruction...
although I'm tempted that in both the context of the book as it would be in real life that even when an "adult" (choosing to put effort towards creation over destruction) he, like you said, isn't "cured"
thus I wouldn't be surprised that both wouldn't have a considerable personality disorder... indefinitely... but seeing as the book ends when he is still pretty young and not super long after the waking experience, it is unclear if that ultimately is the case... but I've only been told...

A Clockwork Orange, while the movie geared more towards the sexual, the book is much better at conveying the overall message.
The "Americanized" version of the story is what you see in the movie, which was taken from the 20 chapter book.
The original book had 21 chapters, representational of growth and adulthood.
It was an excellent portrayal of youth in a near dystopean society where sex and violence was often given a blind eye, and it showed 15 year old Alex going through many trials from his rough days in to his mind being forced to reject sex and violence and the music he loved most.
What we didn't see was that the 21st chapter showed him growing past those. The end was not "I was cured alright".
It was a chapter where he was contemplating changing his life, becoming interested in children and family and less interested in violence and his gang. He was deciding to make a change for himself.

To be honest, when making the film, Kubrick never considered using the final chapter as it was - in his opinion - "inconsistent" with the rest of the book.

It seems" Inside my shoe with all of bog and his holy angels ,but isn't that like cowardly." it's brilliant.
