Description
Yes, another baby left alone after the killing of his family. He was tolerated by the family of the other baby raccoon whose parents had been also killed the Summer before. But the male didn't let him go to their den. I did the best I could for him. He has been well fed until October. I cannot bear people who kill innocent animals.On this photo, I had opened a small window and he came close to me.
Update, October 2016: She has made it through the winter and has had a baby.

I have a large raccoon in my back yard at night. The lovely thing regards me with odium as I strum my guitar and do not feed the handsome varmint. I live 50' from the Gulf of Mexico and raccoons are supposed to fish, by golly!

I often wonder what babies must think when they see this place. My grandson knew his mommy right away. Now he knows the word, "mine." I know animals communicate, they can't just live to survive.

Wild animals communicate with humans, a little like domestic ones. The issue is to gain their confidence. But there so many dangers in the forest (including hunters who killed them for the pleasure)!

Such a touching story. How is it doing after the October update?

I can't tell you because I didn't return to countryside before the Holidays. We never see them during the winter.
We have a country cottage (in the middle of the woods) where I spend the more time I can from June to mid-October.
I take most of my wild animals and birds photos there.
I am pretty sure that there is a male with her and the baby. The males never come during the day.
