This is one of the only two pages I'll ever read, and the only one I'll ever favorite. Sick to death of "mane six" adventures that don't have any damn room for Spike.

Sooooo... Twilight used a lot of magic and an explotion to teleport Spike to where she is, when shecould easily teleport to her house, pick Spike and teleport back to Chanterlot?

I imagine that would have taken more energy. Teleporting from Canterlot to the library then back with a passenger is more taxing compared to one summoning spell. Remember, the distance hasn't changed and she is bringing back Spike on the second trip. She probably could had let herself recover before the second round, but time was an issue.
Of course, she could have jumped home and had Spike right the letter right there at the library, but we wouldn't have this panel. ;D
