As Balloon Manufacturing Robot (BMR) J-86 drifted above the clouds, it took a moment to listen to the silence. There were no alarms ringing up here. There were no humans shouting. No on telling the robot to work faster - that it needed to be more productive, more efficient, or it would end up on the scrap heap. BMR J-86 hadn't been programmed to enjoy silence. But it enjoyed the silence anyway.

The balloon factory was far below and behind it now, and BMR J-86 didn't bother to look back. Instead, it watched the clouds as they slowly swirled in the gentle breeze. BMR J-86 hadn't been programmed to enjoy looking at clouds. But somehow, it enjoyed looking at clouds anyway.
