So Little Skull is actually a human

who's soul has been consumed by a demon that has grafted itself to her skeleton.

It more or less physically is her skeletal structure. It can change it's form to it's choosing; such as contorting the shape of the body and augmenting the actual form of the skeletal mass (like increasing length of limbs or shaping boney blade like appendages).

The demon took over the host so it could walk this Earth through her - it's vessel.

She is basically a cloak made of skin.

it likes to reveal it's true form outside it's fleshy restraints where it is at it's most powerful, and most vulnerable state. It tears and rips off the skin to expose the wicked bones. It delights at the chances it gets to be truly free like this in God's domain. Spiting Him through it's perversed masquerade.

the transformation is unspeakably painful, and a tremendous stress on the host.
and like all parasitic relationships, the parasite cannot live without the host. In this state, the freedom comes at a price, and for only a short time - because of the vicious treatment of the host's body, the host could just easily die - Only through the (unholy) intervention of the demon's will does the fragile life and soul of the host not slip away.

after fleeing to the darkest corners, it fixes the host's body back to non-critical conditions.
here the body could be so torn apart and broken, the demon oftentimes chooses to 'alter' the host's body- often just changing the apparent age.

this just started as a tiny explanation on Skully's WTFness and then that block of text appeared!
She is by far my favourite character
