Description
Here's the prototype sculpt of the Skyrim Rueful Axe. The handle was shortened to be more like the game and I think it came out pretty well for a first attempt. I hope you guys approve of the work!

The axe is awesome, but its the slowest weapon in the game.

Awesome. Love the look of the wood and the aging/tarnishing on the metal parts, looks realistic

While I personally don't care much for the axe in-game, this is an awesome replica!

Was the "axe blade" made using painted clay? It has some interesting detail. lol As far as compared to the In-game axe- no kidding, it would take so much arm strength to use the other one, I understand they wanted it to be authentic looking (even though it's a fantasy game) but our ancestors eventually switched to swords for a reason. lol

It was sculpted in clay and the moulded before making the casting. We felt it would give it a more authentic look and be different from the other great skyrim props here on dA. I'm glad you agree on the handle, I can definitely vouch for the fact that it's easier on the arms to carry and swing, hehe

We're planning to makethe final head from Smoothcast 320 resin, but there's a chance the blade could be made from a skinned foam for LARPing or cosplay uses (I like when they're functional, too). We don't intend to make more than a few copies as commissions, but as soon as more info is available I'll be sure to let you know

This is very true. I always like cross-platform props for just that reason! Might just have to add that to the list of projects for next year!
