Some really really old designs back from 2012, when I was in my old studio. These were done where I first started in my career, fun times! Now its pretty silly to look at :/Other dropships:

Looks nice, mate!
I would have made the doors open "inside" the "arms" - the sides would exposed to enemy fire. Any heavier payload would rely on strong tethering points underneath the central segment anyway, don't you think?
I've had that issue with the design of the Covenant dropships from Halo: Combat Evolved too - I used to throw grenades right under the doors of one side right as they opened and exposed the troops. 50% enemies gone. <3
