Description
When the lord's daughter was displaced from her own body by an angry witch, her wandering spirit immediately sought the aid of her family's champion vassal - the Armored Lion. The Armored Lion was a knight of renown, famous for his lion-like valor and his armor-like armor. He was a very large man who could plow through ten armed opponents with ease (eleven, if they were unarmed). Also, he died a long time ago.
This is a problem. So ghost girl instead enlists the aid of his armor which stands over his grave. Begrudgingly, the armor leaves its post to perform its master's duty in his stead.
And so begins the Armored Lion's final quest: to find the witch and destroy her. His quest does not end, because I am only half a story teller and don't know how to wrap things up. But if you believe in yourself, you can imagine it!
Sometimes people ask me "John, where do you get your ideas from?" Usually I fail to answer or make one up, but this time I can say with all honesty that I got it from stucco!
You might be able to spot it if you look in the upper right quadrant of this image here: [link]
My buddy ~Rakugaki-otoko also tried the same technique, with different results. Check it out! [link]
It's fun stuff.

The Lion reminds me of Alphonse from Metal Alchemist.

Reminds me that I did the same for a character that I rarely draw these days (it was peeled off paint in my case), looked both as a valkyrie or some parot kid. The idea of making something out of that is pretty cool btw. :3

I don't know why but the girl reminds me of the style Captain Harlock or Galaxy Express 999. Still beats me how you pull of such amazing work in flash.

Very nice!!
I've found little pieces of art hidden in stucco on more than one occasion. Every now and again it's good to just stare at the ceiling or wall and find something new

Awesome technique though, and gotta love the story right? Especially the ending, which is no ending!

Welp, you've officially crossed the line from "cute art" to "scary good."
Seriously, this is amazing, I'm half convinced this is animated cause I swear her hair is flowing and the armour's mane is also flowing.

Art via stucco, haha neat. I like the style, it's almost tenebrous. The design of the princess is nice, though her eye-lashes remind me of a doll. Also according to my imagination this story ends after the armor and the witch fight to a stale-mate. The witch then offers a deal, "help me slay the grand ogre king of the north and return the princess to her body." They agree and the trio head north, and that's how book one will end. I'm not too sure what book two will be like, but I do know that the ogre king will have a necromancer reanimate the armored lion and forced to fight.

haha, its not really all that good, princess gets pushed out of her own body and possess' suits of armour to get around.
oh well guess nothing can really beat the origional (probably why nitendo is releasing it in 3d, with the origional really basic graphics. not that really expected them to redo the whole thing, but dude, really? bad graphics in 3d? is there a point? think i'll juest keep my '64.)

I love his armor-like armor with the flaming mane of hair.
The story probably ends with him killing the witch, her not going back to her body (since she's a ghost, hence dead), but falls in love with the armor and vice-versa through their travels and have lots of metallic-ghost children...I don't even want to think of how that would work...

I was in an art block and desperate!
And I remembered an activity in highschool where we splotched paint on paper and then traced out what we saw in it, and that was pretty fun.

since there's no stucco or popcorn ceilings in my house, i usually use the shadows in a blanket, or the paint stains that seem to cover everything i own.
love the story, finished or no. (maybe the witch could trick the knight into betraying the girl or something, idk. i always love a good tragedy.) also, that glowiness <3
