I'm trying to get a bit more into the animation, so critiques are even more appreciated than usual.

No, you're absolutely right. It would have made it more realistic and more interesting. But I decided to just go with a simple loop this time because I'm kinda trying to re-learn the basics again.

Considering how birds tuck in their legs completely i don't find it farfetched that they don't have their legs dangle around, yaknow, aerodynamics and such!

It looks amazing! Especially the wings. I've tried modeling rigging and animating a couple of dragon wings before and it was incredidby hard, but yours look so perfect!
The animation on them looks so smooth and nice. There's just one thing I'd like to critique, and it's a tiny one. (I dont know a lot about animation yet)
At first when I looked at the animation I really liked how you can feel the dragons weight. One of the things that attracted my attention was how the back legs were bobing up and down.
It looked very realistic. But after looking at it some more I feel like this effect is too strong. I think it would work if the character was doing slightly more extreme like flying upwards,
but since he's just flying calmly and the same level I think they shouldn't move as much.(Also I second OcBacon's opinion about the front legs, I think the joins should have more volume perhaps?)
But thats just a tiny nitpick! Overall I think this is absolutely stunning. The amount of detail in modelling animation and the environment is overwhelming. Great job!

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to make it look like he is kinda "pushing" his body up with the rear legs a little bit. But yeah, I guess it looks more like they are just flapping all around. XD

The shading, lighting and overall look of the animation is great.

Also a great style, kind of a more realistic Spiro.

The one thing I can see and not really know how to improve without looking and studying more dragon flight videos are the legs.

I'm not exactly sure if it's a modelling, rigging or animating issue but something looks off about them, the joints on the front legs especially.

Add to that the mirroring of left and right legs animations and it just draws the eye even more.

Really good overall! Keep at it!

Animations are always a pain and never perfect. One needs to walk away to come back with a fresh eye, and see where they can improve.

Thank you for the feedback! At some point I was thinking about making the movement less symmetrical, but then I guess I just got carried on and I forgot it and didn't remember it until now. Damn.
