Description

Really nature is full of wonders and mysteries and one of those great wonders is one of the last species of pterosaurs alive to this day that lives in Papua New Guinea called by the natives of Ropen (which means flying demon) according to the natives is a creature winged bird that wanders through the skies at night, and that attacks fishermen who usually fish at dusk and stay until night, has a scaly skin like that of a snake, a crest behind the head, a long and sharp beak full of straight teeth and pointed, batlike wings and a long tail with an arrowhead-like detail at the end, one of the first sightings of one of these creatures was made by British biologist Evelyn Cheesman, who carried out several explorations in Papua New Guinea and on other islands in the Pacific Ocean between 1926 and 1934 in her 1935 book THE TWO ROADS OF PAPUA she reported seeing strange lights flying over the mountains, the sighting of It took only a few seconds for these lights to disappear in the mountain vegetation ... Evelyn Cheesman was not sure what those lights really were, but she stated that they were not made by humans, they seemed to be emitted by some kind of unknown winged animal, these lights were called the Ropens Lights, but Evelyn Cheesman was not the only one who had seen these lights, several other expeditions that had been made on the islands of the new guinea years later had said they had seen strange lights flying over the mountains as if they were very large birds.

In 2006, the Ropen Lights were finally photographed by a group of researchers who were looking for evidence about this cryptid. They were able to observe several lights flying over the top of a mountain in the middle of the forest. big followed by a smaller one, they were able to observe that the biggest characteristics of these lights is that there is always a big light followed by a smaller one, these luminous parts of the ropen are called bioluminescence stripes that come from the stripes and the ventral parts of the animal.

in the archipelago of the islands in the new guinea there are approximately six species of Ropens, because on each island there is a creature with an extremely different size, physical aspect and colors, but all of them progress bioluminosity ... this species that is presented here is the big Ropem (Pteralumidon Magnacaeruleis) undoubtedly the largest species of pterosaur from the archepelago of the new guinea, it is described as having a lunar gray color with a slightly bluish belly with the ventreal part of the wings with a very dark gray tinge and blue stripes almost all over the body.

this species is probably a direct descendant of the rhamphorhynchus as both have very similar physical characteristics with the exception of the crest that the large Ropen has... and it is clear since the rhamphorhynchus is one of the main ancestors that gave rise to many species of pterosaurs, both those from the Mesozoic era and those that thrive on the skies of today.

Pterosaurs never had protofeathers, I think it has been debunked.

Unless that is wrong.

Either way, yes, it is very possible at some point in time pterosaurs if they survived the KT Event would lose their protofeathers. It's evolution after all, and sometimes protofeathers would just get in the way or would just be useless.

I said that I THINK IT WAS DEBUNKED.

Not that it was debunked because I don't know. I've come across people who say they didn't have protofeathers and I come across people who say they do.

Which is very confusing so I don't pay much attention to it.
