Description
Two pieces of retro-futuristic post-apocalyptic battlefield terrain created for a sci-fi themed playground, for games of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare (~32-34mm scale, or around 1:48), using a bag of cheap "Favors Surprises" plastic toy airplanes found at Dollar Tree. (Figure shown next to the "rocketships" for scale is "Sinjin," from Modiphius Fallout: Wasteland Warfare, standing on a 30mm diameter base.)The bagged "toy planes" were in the party section, detailed only on one side, with flat bottoms (save for some tab-like extensions that served as "landing gear"). I reasoned that if I cut off the tabs, I could put two of the "planes" back to back to make a vaguely rocketship-like shape that I could balance on the tail/aileron fins. The result was still very cartoony, but with a couple of holes bored into it (and a bit of epoxy putty gap-filling), I could make a passable piece of playground equipment. (My Reaper flying saucer slide/jungle-gym terrain piece, elsewhere in the gallery, is meant to fit in the same theme.)
