Description The secret things of the grave are there,
Where all but this frame must surely be,
Though the fine-wrought eye and the wondrous ear
No longer will live, to hear or to see
All that is great and all that is strange
In the boundless realm of unending change.

From the poem On Death by Percy Bysshe Shelley

This is a concept image from a back story that Ariel-X and I are working on, detailing the arrival of the original three Exodus ships to the Epsilon Eridani world. Upon arrival, the Founders (the first 50 humans brought out of stasis whose task it is to set up the colony before awaking the others) find themselves faced with one of several scenarios that was discussed prior to leaving Earth: The Native Contingency. What should they do in the case of arriving to a world already inhabited? But in this instance, they are also faced with another dilemma -- the world appears to be uninhabitable.

Amazing work Ryan, it's so weird, how I can see more than what is in front of me. I can literally visualize this in relationship to the messages we just exchanged in FB. Amazing! I'll send you a note with regard to this, you'll see what I mean. Awesome beautiful work Ryan, as always

Big time GASP!!! That background is way real looking! Yes, that world doesn't look as thought one could find a nice picnic spot very easily, huh? LOL But, wow! Good job with this one.

Thanks, Kikue! And no, not going to be a nice pic-a-nic spot for our travelers, I'm afraid. I had fun with this one. We've been writing fools lately, finally figuring out that we do better writing the story out of order. It just works well for us. That way we're not getting stuck like in the others. And the ideas are pouring out, which spawned this image. Fun, fun, fun! I love to get in that writing groove. I have to enjoy it while it lasts, as it comes in spurts for me.

I'm just glad to see back at it, for how ever length of time the muse will last. I know you've been working terribly hard. Maybe this can be the stress relief you need. Whenever you're not dead tired, that is. LOL

I'm working on something right now but it's taking a long time to render. I hope you will like it. Lots of skin, though not completely nude. In some instances, especially in the science fiction realm, I find myself liking the modestly unclothed look. To me suggestive pieces are more stimulating than in-your-face nudity for the sake of nudity. Not that that's wrong -- I enjoy it just the same. So be on the lookout for something coming up. Hopefully by tomorrow night.

Holy cow!!! Wow Ryan! What a cool looking image! The lighting and shadows alone are to die for! You have created such a mysterious atmosphere for the new arrivals to explore. Love how you can see the buildings in the distance thru the mist. You really get the feeling your are standing there with them on the brink of discovering a whole new way of life. I just love how you have the light shining down on the explorers creating their shadows behind them. The image is just oozing with inspiration. Yea! Just love this unique and exceptional peek into the Extra Solar world! Brilliant image sweetie!! Bravo! weeeeeee!

Thank you so much, Suzi! I wanted to capture that sense of awe and mystery of discovering a world that was once thriving with life, to one whose civilization just up and vanished. Or ... did they? [input dramatic music] haha

Being stuck in our current story, I think this back story is key to fill in some foundation for the current world we've created, as this will greatly (think EPIC-ly!) tie into the main story. It's so much fun to think of exploring this alien world and what secrets will come about, and the things that will happen and what they will learn. Fun! We have it mapped out, just need to get it written. Fun!

Your most welcome Ryan! haha, your too cute! Love the "dramatic music" you have inserted. You really nailed this one! I felt as if I was standing right there with the explorers looking at the city. hehe Yea! I think you did a great job of setting the stage for all the events that will take place. How exciting! It's beginning to unfold.......weeeeeee!
