The Cyclops are a race of corpulent and one-eyed giant, children of the titans Gaia and Uranus, when they were imprisoned and later released in gratitude to Zeus they forged the lightning bolt for the lord of Mount Olympus.
Within the adaptation of “GOW” the Cyclopes are as diverse in color and weapons as the Berseker or Executioner types but the common point is the mini game where Kratos climbs up the back and rips out the eye. (A nod to "Polyphemus", a cyclops who lived on an island and was a sheep herder, who unfortunately had cannibalistic tastes and devoured the crew of hero "Odysseus" who in revenge stabbed the giant's eye while he slept.)
