AWSOME TUTORIAL! but, just a thought, could the panel bg be done with conky? so that you wouldn't need to edit each wallpaper to be used?

But if you want to use the Apple ribbon, with conky you will have problems.

Anyway, I was used a .xcf file with his layers prepared and I only changed the wallpaper layer when I want change it.

Thanks

i love it! i had a similar desktop: [link]

but... now Gnome3 :S.... sucks :S . Right now i have Compiz as Standalone WM. So here is the question how you have Gnome2 in Archlinux?

Really like your desktop! Can I add this to Custom-Linux group? But can you add a little description of the stuff used in that wonderful desktop? Many thanks!

I clicked on the video before asking you the question, but youtube told me this:

"This video contains content from Made in Eula, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds. Sorry about that."

I tried also a couple of proxy servers, but nothing changed!

But you've replaced all icons by hand? It's an huuuge work! Replacing in blocks would be surely faster!! and let me say this, I'm quite expert about icons in GNOME

However, nice video! And nice customization!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Juanma90 In reply to alecive [2011-04-24 13:04:56 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but the customization wouldn't be possible if I replace icons by blocks.

I need Elementary icon theme for aplications. I change dock icons only. If I install a new aplication, I want to assign it the icon that I want.

For example:
File roller => Dropbox icon.
Firefox => Internet menu icon.
Baboab => Bicomet icon.
etc...

Sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand me xD.

Thanks for you comments!
