Description
This is John. He is often seen around my neighborhood. He was in a bad accident, couldn't get disability, so he depends on donations to help support himself and his family

it's so, so hard to get disability even when you have doctors backing you up; it sucks that he has to resort to this

Yeah, I know. It's really hard to get it, and even if you do, it's not really enough to live off of. Unless we get some major changes in our government, disability payments are going to be cut even more in 2016. I don't know what to think anymore. Growing up, I doubt anyone thought it would get this bad so quickly. Those old TV shows with Mom at home and Dad coming home for dinner, and nice homes and retirement trips at a decent age, it's all like a fairy tale now. I fear for all of us in the future and I know you get it, but many don't. I'll shut myself up now & cuddle with my cats and watch TV

That's crazy. Your system is different to ours. There's a guy in my village, says he's blind and is on benefits tho oddly his neighbour saw him on the roof fixing the guttering. He tried to take photo's of him and the blind man SAW (??!) him and called the police. The police cautioned the neighbour not to take photos of the man as he was on his own property.
Then the blind man set up CCTV cameras around his (rented, paid for by tax payers) property (how does he afford that ?) the footage of which he presumably can't see ?
He's got fish ponds and a neatly tended garden too, how does he DO that ? And the other day there were garden tools, lawn mower and various very decent household items out on his driveway with a neat little sign saying "free stuff, help yourself". This guy is milking the system for all it's worth. And look at your man here. It boggles my brain.
Oh and the "blind man" drives a car, but he doesn't park it on his driveway, he parks it illegally on the slip road to a nearby church. And has never had a ticket for it..
I was there one day when he reverse parked it there. He nearly ran me down...well I guess he can't see can he.

They never seem to grant disability to people who really need it.. I've seen dozens who
have it that are no more disabled than I am!.. he should see a disability lawyer.. they dont charge unless they win!

I don't think he's going to go to a lawyer, just my guess, but I know I checked out disability for myself- and there is no way I could survive on that alone

well they say most who apply are rejected at least twice. he should definitely get a disability lawyer to see if they can get it for him.. he certainly paid into it every week when he was working!

Well, that's a great system for you. Apply repeatedly and maybe you might get something. Actually, unless something changes, disability funds will dry up in late 2016. The powers that be need to move some out of the retirement portion of the social security funds, but who knows what will really happen? This means immediate reductions for people already receiving benefits. But, I never worry about the future anymore, it's way too tiring and stressful

Its a crazy system..and the government has been playing with it using funds for other things..and that shouldn't be. It's all political bullshit
