Despite the dreadful reputation of a ruthless fomorian king, Nathaniel is far from being a villain; at least, he doesn’t view himself that way, nor does he aspire for the world’s total dominion. In fact, there’s hardly a man more patriotically-driven and righteous, - his only downfall lying in an enormous pertinacity, driving him towards dubious goals and means. Once he sets his mind to something, Nathan is impossible to dissuade, either things will go his way, or won’t at all. A compelling force to reckon with, he is always sure of whatever he does, or at least acts as if he knows what he’s doing, - and can be very convincing, even if his opponent appears opinionated enough.
Perhaps an echo of a human heart, or a personal tragic life experience, but Nathaniel would never draw his sword over another unfortunate soul. Something akin to real softness of a heart urges him to take others under his careful wing, to give shelter and advice to the one in need and protect the ones which cannot stand for themselves. Nathan has gone through a lot, but the cruelty he’s seen has only made him more determined to search for the mercy and grace left in this world: and if failed, to build a better, brighter world of his own. Once set in this goal, Nathaniel has not veered from his path, even though his actions weren’t welcomed by the majority of Chevalor. Nevermind, he will make them accept his ideas, no matter what it takes. They will all thank him later, surely.
Not the one to take criticism lightly, Nathaniel, however, readily criticises others, picking at the smallest details and flaws; an acute observer and careful planner, he works for nothing less than perfection. He is not the type of king to sit on his throne and watch as others do things for him: he’s always in the epicentre of a storm, running around barking orders and making sure everything’s done right. He places special trust in individuals that work hard and are loyal to their tasks. Personal concepts of justice and faith are unshakable to him, and he strives to think of the global well-being, rather than individual whims, which makes him rather bad at personal connections. Nonetheless, Nathaniel is definitely a mighty ally to have at one’s back - and a lot more than he lets on.
