Intro
Okay, I'm just gonna get this out of the way first, I like Pinkie in this episode. I know this rubs some others the wrong way, but she was both in character and didn't bother me in the slightest. I made it through Putting your hood down unscathed and this was certainly a walk in the park. Mean spiritedness just doesn't bother me, at least not to unhealthily obsessive levels that could get me in a straight jacket locked away in a padded cell like some others I've seen. If this is some feeble attempt to knock Pinkie down from second favorite of the main six on my list then you're gonna have to try alot harder than that because I still love Pinkie just as much even after watching this episode. Go ahead and throw you're tomato's.

Synopsis
First we start at Fluttershy's cottage where she's talking to birds, and starts singing. And her friends interrupt and for admire how good she was, and Fluttershy drifts into despair, okay? The others compliment her and say she should join the Pony Tones Cortet, and Pinkie encourages Fluttershy in the only way Pinkie knows how, buy scaring the heck out of her, and Rarity repremends Pinkie buy hitting her with a news paper, okay that was pretty funny. Fluttershy refuses to join despite being a fan of the Pony Tones because get this, Fluttershy has stage fright, who knew, the shy pony is, shy. Rarity understands and doesn't egg Fluttershy any further. The Pony Tones it turns out is composed of Rarity, Big Mac, he can sing, who knew, and two ponies who I have no idea who they are. They rehearse and Big Mac is the lead singer, and it's surprisingly really good for being sung by someone who rarely uses his vocal chord. Spike comes up and compliments Rarity's singing with his only line in the episode, no seriously , he cameo's later but with no dialogue. Apparently their performance is for some pet sitting fund raiser and they rest up for the day. The Pony tones show up the next day for another rehearsal and Rarity scolds Big Mac for being late, what are they an old married couple? As they're about to sing it turns out that Big Mac lost his voice, of all the days for this to happen it had to be when he actually needed his voice. We learn through flashback that he lost his voice in a turkey competition to non other than Pinkamena Diane Pie, wait, I thought she was a chicken? Rearranging the song for three will take too long so Fluttershy gets an idea who to turn to, Zecora. Hi Zecora, haven't seen you since the two parter opener. Good news, she can cure Big Mac, bad news, not before the performance. The only other option, replace Big Mac with another low pitched singer, guess who's back, yep, Flutterguy, courtesy of Poison joke modified to have the same effect as before. Wait I always thought the effect was specific to each individual, not random, oh well, you learn something new every day. But how will Fluttershy do this with her stage fright? But having Big Mac lip sync as FLuttershy sings back stage of course! Fluttershy is hesitant so Rarity uses Angel bunny's sad face to get Fluttershy to accept. So what ever happened to her peer pressure lesson from Bats!? The concert happens and works out pretty well and Fluttershy or Flutterguy actually enjoyed it. Everyone buys it, even Rainbowdash, Twilight, Applejack, and Pinkiepie, apparently only Fluttershy, Rarity, and Big make are in on the plan. They get complimented by a male pegasus who I'm sure is based on a human but I don't know who he's based on. He want's the Pony Tones to perform at his daughters party, at first they decline, but Fluttershy didn't want to disappoint the little girl she says they should. The Mayor ask for them to perform at the ribbon cutting ceremony and Fluttershy says they should do it too, has anyone noticed by now they only know one song? And then they perform at the spa, then Cheerilee's classroom. They have one last performance, but Big Mac's voice is cured so he can sing again, but Fluttershy is actually sad about not being able to sing again. So Big Mac and Rarity agree to do the lip sync again one last time. Fluttershy gets a bit too energetic, guess she wanted her last time to really count, and knocks down the curtain exposing herself to the crowd. We then seen her get really scared and get some creepy imagery that'll probably give the show's target demographic nightmares and she runs away. Applejack confronts her brother, becomes phychic, and gets all the answers in seconds and they go to Fluttershy's cottage. They spot Fluttershy who has already cured herself, Pinkie becomes spidermare and being her usual Pinkieness runs her mouth nonstop, Fluttershy then runs away crying, Pinkie wonders of she overdid it, and they chase Fluttershy through town. After some chasing they finally get her to stop and Fluttershy say's she'll never sing in front of anyone ever again. She and her friends have a talk and Fluttershy the next day sings, on stage, with her normal voice and they reprise was really good, oh and turns out only her friends and the animals were watching. Fluttershy felt surprisingly well, Rarity says she should sing for the Zap Apple Extrordanare with them and Fluttershy refuses saying she'll take baby steps. And we get the moral that it's best to face your fears rather than let them stop you from doing what you love best and being your true self

Problems
My only problem was the Pony Tones seemingly coming out of nowhere, this might not have been so much of a problem had it not been for Fluttershy saying she's a fan insinuating that the Pony Tones have been around for a long time, but this is small and didn't really affect the story for me.

Praises
This was some really great developement for Fluttershy. It's also pretty amazing that Big Mac is getting more spotlight, first Pinkie Apple Pie, now this. And the call back to Bridle Gossip, nice. The songs were pretty good. And the moral was a really good and realistic one, fears can't be conquered in just one triumph, baby steps.
