Intro
Alright Natasha, I think you've solidified yourself as one of my new favorite writers!

Thoughts
  I gotta say this episode really has alot of eye candy. First thing to talk about is the animation which was actually very creative here, from all the grim spooky lighting, all the costume designs, and not to mention all the pop culture references. Like for example, there's a scene where Fluttershy at her cottage tries to spook her friends with drawings of ponified versions of Ranma, Bulma, and Sailor Moon, if anyone knows the name of those other two that I don't know, could you let me know? Also another bit of CG animation there. There were even some costumed ponies dressed up as Sailor moon, or Jason Voorhees and Derpy as Princess Twilight at the maze. I also swear I saw a pacman ghost design somewhere though I don't really remember where exactly. And is Rainbowdash dressed as Buzz Lightyear? Oh and a Flutterbat costume. Also rewatching the episode a second time allowed me to catch a few things I missed in my first viewing such as Granny Smith's tales of the bones and eyeballs that give Fluttershy her ideas later, also Fluttershy's concern of being able to run without tripping later plays into events later on. Also, Angels evil plotting face was just priceless!

  And of course we have yet another bit of questionable characterization that's become come a thing. Look guys, I'm not gonna pretend I'm right and you're wrong or hold onto any hopes of changing peoples minds but just hear me out on this. We already know that Fluttershy is terrified of Nightmare night and seeing that it's that time of the year and the shows nature of exaggerating character reactions to this degree I can suspend my disbelief that Fluttershy would take all this precaution and be that jumpy and worried. If this does seem a bit too much well, I'm sorry you can't handle it as well as I do. I respect your opinion and hope you'll respect mine in return that I don't think Fluttershy's character was taken too far or regressed in anyway.

  And then there's the moral and thank god I can actually talk about this one! Honestly at first I really did think the episode was simply going to end with Fluttershy conquering her fear of Nightmare Night and deciding to attend it with her friends every year from then on, but the episode actually took an unexpected turn. Yes Fluttershy does sorta conquer her fear of Nightmare Night but she flat out tells them that she won't join them on anymore Nightmare Nights with her friends simply because this isn't her cup of tea. This is actually quite a mature moral. And yes me and my friends in real life do like alot of the same things but we do also have our own personal interest that the other doesn't share. Friends of course being friends have plenty of things that they can enjoy together but there are also some things that no matter what you just can't do together. And just because you can do it doesn't mean you have to do it if you don't like it, a real friend will understand and accept that you just don't have some of the same interest they do.

  So all in all this is yet another really great episode, with all the great animation on the lighting and costume designs along with alot of great popculture references. And a really great moral that seem to build on itself using the lessons Fluttershy learned from Filli Vanilli and It ain't easy being Breezies. Even if it did take the predictable route the episode would have been fun enough to warrant multiple viewings but it's still a real treat when they can do something I never saw coming. Another solid episode! Natasha Levinger, I think you've just earned your spot on my list of favorite writers. And Happy Halloween, well, late Halloween.
