Description
My body is tired and my soul is so weary,
So I just let myself slip into the imaginary,
Such a sweet dream and pleasant escape,
It’s a peaceful world in which to take a break,

Spellbound in rapture from the pages of a book,
Simply reading a few seconds is all that it took,
The story is of turmoil yet my mind is serene,
Lost in the story and imagining the scene,

Through the character’s eyes and the narrator’s vision,
Caught in the peril, the drama the confusion,
As the ending is drawing near,
The moment is so vivid it may draw a tear,

For soon I know the quest will be done,
The victory at hand and the battle won,
On and on I read through the stillness of night,
Awaiting the finale of their story and plight,

When it is over I shut my eyes,
My world calls to me, and my spirit sighs,
For a second I am enthralled by all that is life,
And forget all my pain and all of my strife,

Such splendid quiet fills my head,
And softly I fall asleep, at peace, in my bed.
