What? You thought that the X-Mass gifts would be my next update? Those are still Ten Days away from being updated, so I figured I'd upload something in the meantime. This is the Arachne Ranger, an Evil-To-Good kind of character serving as the first Extra Ranger to the Konchuger team. Unlike our last colab (Jikan Sentai Chronoranger), we thought it would be interesting if he designed the Core Team, while I designed the Two Additional Rangers (the second of which will be coming later, so look forward too that). And I thought that despite the Insect Theme of the team, I thought it would be cool to go with a Spider theme for an Evil Ranger (kind of loses that cool factor when she joins the team, but screw it). The biggest problem with that idea however was the helmet. See, the helmets other Konchugers feature silhouette of their respected insect, with the Wings acting as the eyes. Now as you all know, Spiders don't have wings...or at least I don't think they do. If they did, I'd probably evacuate the planet. Anyway! The solution was simple, I instead decided to use the Spider's LEGS to form the visor...which left me with two of the legs just stranded in the middle. That's when I got the idea for the pseudo Knight theme. I use "pseudo" because the only real "Knight" thing about her is the lance weapon. Though I did add some shoulder pads and extra bits of armor to help out. All in all, I'm pleased with the results, and I think this is a very good Black Ranger design...of hey, a Female Black. Didn't notice that until now.

Anyway, time for the huge ass backstory that three of you will read...I put it there because it would only be a matter of time before Sentaibrave asked me to type one up, not that I mind. But I just wanted to get ahead of the game.

Backstory time!
Growing tired of the Konchuger's constant interference in their conquest of the Earth, the Leaders of the Achidna Empire decided it would be best to fight fire with fire. Over a series of tactical battles, the Achidna Empire gained enough information to replicate the Konchuger System. The result was the Arachne Changer, a device capable of transforming the user into the deadly "Konchu Killer", as the scientists called it. The device was given to one of the strongest warriors in the Empire: Spinera, who promptly renamed it too "Arachne Ranger" to suit her own tastes. Her mission was simple: Destroy the Konchugers at all costs. However, as time grew, Spinera decided to take on a human form to spy on the Konchugers. Over the course of several weeks, she grew somewhat fond over the team as well as the planet and it's inhabitants in general, but not enough to deter her from her goal, or so she thought. Then, for the first time, she witnessed an Achidna attack for the first time on the other side. Up until then, she had never payed any attention to the fear and panic of the Achidna's victims, and it opened her eyes to what it was like for the countless worlds the Achidna have taken over. That's when she decided to abandon her ties too the empire, and fight for the Earth to make up for her own sins. She approached the Konchugers with her true identity and asked too be a part of the team. Obviously, the offer was shot down. As a show of good intentions, she left the Achidna Changer with the team and left. It took some time, but V'ates finally agreed too allow her onto the team after witnessing her risk her own life to protect innocent bystanders, and returned the Achidna Changer. She now fights to protect the Earth and all of it's living creatures.

So that about does it for the Arachne Ranger. Sentaibrave plans on doing his own image of her (and it will be much better then this one, I can promise you that), so go watch his Page if you're interested in that. He's also got the other Konchuger Picture, and I'm sure he'll be doing more with them very soon.
