The last 2 years I hadn't much time for drawing, I was very busy with other thinks then drawing on the computer. I started a couple of times a new project but I just couldn't finish it or I didn't like my drawing any more and threw it away. But finally I had some spare time (well I just didn't go to school) and began drawing.
I made this with Photoshop CS 2 in about 18 hours with a wacom intous3 A4.
I have put so much effort into this one I hope this has paid of.
I had ton's of comments en critics and I have tried to but al peoples critics into it.
I used Jessica alba for ref. I wasn't my intention to make here look like Jessica alba (just ref). [link]

(grins) Advanced critique? There aren't that many people around who could pull that off, but... okay...
The best part of this picture is the jewlery. It looks nearly photoreal and startled me completely to take a look at it. The rose on the right side of her head, though, doesn't look quite right. It's bent wrong, or something, and sort of distracts. Something needs to be there, but it could be a different shape of rose. And there's one brown smudge on her neck that doesn't look like natural shadows. Something about the blue of her eyes bugs me a bit. And her eyelashes look a bit unnatural, but I suppose that could've been the makeup intent... the overly shaped and stuff.
Now, for the plus sides. Note that I was TRYING to come up with a critique of potential improvals, otherwise I would've just said something like "WOW!". I love her hair to pieces. Wow. I cannot do hair like that though I work with a mouse). The clothing folds are lovely... the makeup is shiny and nice, even if it's Amidala's.

This is fantastic!! I love the shimmer on her lips, and her makeup is wonderful. Great textures, they make it seem like a photograph. And those roses are divine! I love the combination of blured lines with perfect detail. It's just perfect in every way possible, breath taking.
And congratulations on the DD!! You definately deserve it!!

Shockingly realistic, some parts looks out of focus, like the hair going down her forehead, and the shadows on her scarfy neck tie, but other than that, i think it's amazing ^u^ Like Pie!

Wow, the hair is absoloutely amazing. I feel as if I could just reach out and touch it. If I'd have to critisize anything, it would be the loss of detail in the darker parts of her clothing.

I can't explain the fascination exactly, but I found myself staring at this for ages. I had it open in a seperate browser, and just kept tabbing back to it every now and then. It's truly beautiful in many ways.

Amazing texturing, I'm incredibly impressed.
Quick questions, if I may, and if you have time to answer - how do you achieve the textures, particularly that of the skin and fabric? Do you use specific brushes, or do you create all of the textures by using a normal brush and... well, paying really close attention? 
I think my favourite part would be the blue jewel, you have pulled off a beautiful transparent crystal effect very well indeed. Another nice touch is the way you have blurred the roses, it makes it look like a photograph that is focussed on the portrait, which makes the piece very eyecatching, and rather unique, unlike other digital pieces that provide sharp focus on everything.
You really deserved the DD award.

I think my fav part is the texture of the skin. It really looks like it has little pores. It looks more like real skin than i've ever seen before.
I also love the colors! The hair and the eyes are stunning as well.

i have PS CS2 as well But have no clue how to create something like this! how can i create an airbrush effect like this on my pictures???? Btw...Im a newbie in PsCs2 so i have no clue how to work it im learning as i go along!

The only complaint I have is that the face is a bit tooo symmetrical. People are full of flaws, we're not perfect.
....but the detail you put into this (like with the fabric, the eyes, the skin, etc...) is amazing!!!!
