Bio:
More 50 years had been passed…everyone thought was history…everyone thought was killed…everyone thought they were saved by the primal wrath who brought death and destruction from Antarctica to Manhattan…everyone thought that a radioactive grenade shot in neck could eliminate him…but they didn’t know that a so stupid way cannot kill one of the greatest kaiju ever…surely not THE RHEDOSAURUS, THE BEAST FROM 20.000 FATHOMS. About his past first being reawaken to hibernation by an atomic experiment in Antarctica, no one knows nothing, but later he awoke for first he erased the researchers with an avalanche, later he swan to Manhattan, ravaging everything and owning everybody. Besides, the Beast’s blood spread a Mesozoic pathogenic agent that killed many persons. Later, the US army blocked him in a luna park at Coney Island with fire, and they knocked out him shooting a radioactive grenade in his neck. The menace looked like obliterated, and they dumped the Rhedosaurus’ s body in the persic gulf.... 50 years passed, and the Iraq war begun, and considering the middle-eastern country exhaustly defended, the US army decided to use a double attack: first, unleashing the Carnosaur spawn on earth; second, launch two kamikaze killer whales with modified white phosphor bombs in the mouths of Tigris and Eufrates, destroying the sea economy not only of Iraq, but of most middle-east…unluckily, the weapon yet transformed the persic gulf into a cemetery, but the explosion of the bombs also destroyed the radioactive fragments in the neck of the comatose Rhedosaurus, who rested in the depths of the gulf…without the radiations that continuely damaged his body, interfering with his regenerative facture, the injuries on his body healed, and the plague in his blood had been absorbed in his antibody’s DNA, definitively immunizing him and making his blood and his saliva deadly poisonous. Later a few time, he had seen in Italy in the capital, Rome, where he appeared and helped the Italian monster Giorgio against Zilla jr., and there he had been photographed. On all the journals and newspapers appeared that photo with the question “is he back?”. Most of media tried proving it was wrong, but he reappeared in Lebanon, at Beirut, and this time “helped” by the Carnosaurs who from that day became the Rhedosaurus’s “personal army”. Desperate, the US army decided to act, so they attracted him in Istambul, where they stunned him and captured him…later he had totally destroyed the city and killed most of inhabitants. Strangely, the only building the Rhedosaurus spared was the great mosque, that later the annexation of Turkey to European Union(with the excuses to Armenian people) many Christian fundamentalists claimed to readapt it as church…but as they shot a missile against the Rhedosaurus, he deviated it and it made the mosque explode(a Turkish Muslim survived said “now we and you are equal, no one never again pray there.”). however, they brought him into a secret base where they tried to take the control of him, but arrived Giorgio who saved him and was saved by him. Teaming up with the giant winged lizard, the Rhedosaurus went (as everyone frightened) to Manhattan, and there everything was done to stop him, but uselessly. Even Zilla jr. tried the challenge, but he was been rapidly annihilated by the rage of the Beast, being tossed against the freedom tower, crashing it. Later this destruction, he went to stay in Ogasawara Island where he met many other monsters(the Chinese Century, the Gojiratyrannus Rex, and Komoboi), and he also challenged the King of Monsters, Godzilla…and incredibly the clash ended in a equal!...
…Later this, the Rhedosaurus teamed up with those new Daikaiju, and then risen the RHEDOSAURUS LEGACY…

Great pic and concept. It's very justified that a the fist destructive Kaiju(King Kong may be the first, but wasn't agresive) that inspired the King is his equal. I would love to see a Godzilla vs Rhedosaurus movie, or at least that he would make a apperance in one of the Godzilla games...

I really like the detail of the scales and plating, very intricate in places like the spines on the back and tail, plus the design of the torso and the stance the creature takes. Looks very intimidating and fearsome, the hunched stance add to it's incredible size!

he's the main character of "the beast from 20.000 fathoms", and he's the only true american kaiju. what do you like?

Well, I like his colouration, I think the spines look amazing and I think the claws are great. Oh, and I also like it because: there's nothing wrong with it. There you go, that's what I like about him.

This is really awesome. The only thing that bugs me is that there's a lot of tension on all the edges of the paper. Perhaps you could add a little more room to the canvas in a computer program. *shrugs*

Anyway the detail is very nice in the scales and spikes. I also enjoyed reading your comments and description.

Kaptain-Kefiah In reply to Kijayz [2008-10-03 00:00:36 +0000 UTC]

what do you mean with "a lot of tension on the edges?"

however, i'm happy you like the bio, i were ver worried it was not worthy of him.

Kijayz In reply to Kaptain-Kefiah [2008-10-03 00:31:17 +0000 UTC]

When you have a piece of art that the edges come extremely close to the canvas edge but don't touch, it causes a lot of tension, like it's distracting to the overall piece.

Basically, it may be the artist's intention to make such a tension, but usually you want someone's eye to completely move around the art piece without getting stuck somewhere or wanting to look away. With the tension on all edges of your canvas...it just makes it harder to look at for long.

It's a fine piece...it just seems crammed into a small space is all.
