Em, well, I was bored and sick of seeing little chibis evrywhere. I needed to speedpaint D:I... I somewhat did this in 20 minutes, and I am amazed by how quick I managed to get something like this.
I really like it. I think I'll refine it and post an updated version later. And desaturate this version. But, seriously, I miss dragons so much.
So, since I was reading the third book of Eragon's serie, I tought 'hey, let's go and do saphira, she is a dragon, and it could be cool'
I know it probably is innacurate, and I don't care.

this is just absolutely beautiful! I love the dark backround, and the blue and red. It seems... soft? the colors are soft, but she is all powerful. I love it!!!

Honestly, I love this piece. The colouring and the highlights just look amazing. It is also one of the great works that doesn't need a full body picture to show how talented an artist can be.

I love the colors you chose. They're so eye catching and this picture is do dramatic in ways.
The speed painting/fading also gives it this ghostly spector look. It's very mystical and haunting and adds a nice touch.

I haven't read the third in the Eragon series, but I think they are alright. Pretty much just a basic heros quest but still interesting.

Bah, Saphira isn't really complicated - a blue dragon. I don't think people have very different views of her XD
I am not a crap dead fan, just that it help killing the time, instead of drawing 24/7. I would say they are good, but sometimes really lacks originality.

True. When reading it, I feel like I'm watching Starwars, since they are very similar in the way of characters.

I don't think a tutorial from me on this subject would be useful -- It is purely a matter of pratice, and I don't know how I could explain it.
