It's been ages since I first saw Ghost in the Shell, original movie.And it's been ages since I had an idea to do a GitS fanart.
I kept telling myself that in order to create one I need to become uber badass (at least like Shirow) for it to be a proper tribute.
Well, I'm still not like him. But I figured.. Screw it.
If I let my sick self criticism control me I'll probably die without creating a GitS piece. And that would suck.
So.. Here it is. In wide-screen wallpaper format if you'd like to use it for private desktop use.. Please be fair, it's for private non-commercial use only. To download click the 'download' button.. captain obvious, over and out.

It's lovely to finally see some full-body artwork in your gallery after so long, and more realistic art as well. It's quite excellent, I must say, but I do wish you had kept her rotated 180 degrees instead of upside-down.
I had an issue with her legs looking awkward at first glance until I took it to photoshop, rotated, and saw that she's kneeling in water. Then it made a lot more sense to me. The awkward perspective made it hard for me to discern that her legs were in water and distorted by it.
By no means am I saying it's flawed. Like I said, it's excellent work and a fitting tribute to a fabulous movie. Just a meek art watcher's lowly opinion. Keep up the great work, my dear. And I hope your little one is well.

Looks like the Major, to me! I started seeing it in Manga issues from Dark Horse! Then I got the movie on vhs, ugraded it to dvd and Claimed the S.A.C. Collections for my own. Well done.

Haha, my self criticism was holding me back from drawing this. Once I did I felt huge amount of relief actually. My husband said it's his fav piece of mine too so.. I guess my weird aproach to my own art has been cured for a while ;D

I loved Ghost in the Shell, and the colors and tone do it justice. It reminds me of the end scene where I'm supposed to know what the hell is going on and I am still left scratching my head.
