This is beautiful in both thought and execution. The colors of that sunset providing a crisp contrast to his broken/disadvantaged body. The overall softness, warmth and gentleness that oozes from it is soothing. Thinking about it is fun; because of how the sun casts him in to shadow from our perspective we can not tell whom exactly he might be. He could be anyone of us, with a "flaw", disadvantage, or just someone on the precipice of defeat. Here he stands imperfect bathed in light and he has wings, while not actually physical, to signify that in the light of hope and willpower there is the power to soar beyond your problems and stand proud. He is alone because it is his decision to make, and his path to tread. This exhibits that we are not to be measured by our failures, but by our willingness to stand against them, learn from them, and move beyond them. Bravo! If there were anything to be picky about here, it might be that the horizon/skyline could use a tad more defining, but it still looks brilliant as is.
