Link to blank meme - fox-orian.deviantart.com/art/I…This is "the big one". Ever since I loved watching anime and getting into drawing a lot as well being a storyteller when writing my own stories, it's about time to share my biggest influences on my style when it comes to doing my art and it's all in one gigantic meme known as "the influence map". Here are all the ones that inspired me so much yet I also love seeing/reading their works the most.
First Row - Shinichiro Watanabe (best work: Cowboy Bebop), Chie Shinohara (best works: Purple Eyes In the Dark & Darkness of the Sea, Shadow of the Moon), Don Bluth (best work: The Secret of NIMH), Natsuki Takaya (best work: Fruits Basket), and Hayao Miyazaki (best works: Princess Mononoke & Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind)
Second Row - Go Nagai (best works: Devilman & Cutey Honey), CLAMP (best works: X & Magic Knight Rayearth), Osamu Tezuka (best work: Dororo), Rumiko Takahashi (best works: Inuyasha & Ranma 1/2), and Hideaki Anno (best works: Neon Genesis Evangelion & Gunbuster)
Third Row - Hajime Isayama (best work: Attack On Titan), Naoko Takeuchi (best work: Sailor Moon), Kouta Hirano (best work: Hellsing), Yoshiaki Kawajiri (best works: Ninja Scroll & Wicked City), and Yuriy Norshyten (best works: Hedgehog In the Fog & Tale of Tales)
Fourth Row - Akihisa Ikeda (best work: Rosario + Vampire), Satoshi Kon (best works: Tokyo Godfathers & Paprika), Hiro Mashima (best work: Fairy Tail) (although, this part takes up some of its space in between fourth to sixth row), and Yuji Iwahara (best works: Dimension W & Chikyu Misaki)
Fifth Row - Shirow Masamune (best work: Ghost In the Shell), Kazuya Mikekura (best works: Saiyuki & Wild Adpater), & Tite Kubo (best work: Bleach)
Sixth Row - Norihiro Yagi (best work: Claymore), Atsushi Ohkubo (best work: Soul Eater), and Katshiro Otomo (best work: Akira)
And that's it. Though, I wanted to include Rei Hiroe but took up some space with placing in Mashima so I would like to say him as an honorable mention & best work he did was Black Lagoon, by the way.

Oh dude, I'd definitely like to make a more in depth journal about this sometime in the future, but a very quick gloss over some of my inspirations will do for now:
Masamune Shirow
Hiro Kiyohara
Stanley Kubrick
Christopher Nolan
Kohta Hirano

I see, and all great choices!
Kubrick & Nolan are some of my all-time favorite filmmakers, I know Hirano & Masamune are on my meme there, and never have heard of Hiro Kiyohara.

I love Kubrick for his tone and his cinematography, I love Nolan for his deep, philosophical narratives. Hirano created Hellsing which made me want to become a mangaka one day. Masamune made Ghost in the Shell which forever changed my life and Hiro Kiyohara did the art for a manga called Another, the Gothic and highly detailed art made me want to take on a more mature looking art style, the jury is still out on whether or not I was successful in making small changes to my art.

Agreed on both Kubrick & Nolan with their styles in filmmaking.
Have heard of Another, but have yet to see the anime for it.
Nicely described on how all those changed your life and become the artist that you currently are.

They're all the best of the best when it comes to good stuff I enjoy watchin/reading, yet inspiring with their styles in both storytelling & art.

It all started with Don Bluth for me in the beginning, since I've always kept watching his works & growing up with them and I also find The Secret of NIMH to be his crowning achievement. Always the best in Disneyesque, yet he did worked for Disney before doing Banjo the Woodpile Cat.
And then came anime - a huge life-changing experience in watching animation as for manga being the same with reading comic stuff like that.

Yup.
What about you? Who would considered to be your great influences on your art?
