I get asked a lot how I do my textures so here's a small tutorial on how I did this piece. It was really very simple to do and has very few layers.~HanameHime was nice enough to let me use her photo.
Textures are by ~AutumnsGoddess-stox =resurgere stock.xchng
If you have any questions I'll be happy to try and answer them for you, most importantly have fun!

What program are you using now? I'm sure that when you start using Photoshop and really learn all the things it can do you're gonna just love it! Don't forget if you ever get stuck on something I'd be more than happy to try and help you out!

Haha, I know it's hard to change from something you're so comfy with! I had a hard time going fron Photoshop 6 to CS! Talk about being resistant to change!

Thank you, I was trying to make it so even the novice would understand. As for teaching, I took a class where the instructor made us each teach the class a new Photoshop effect, and let me tell ya it's not as easy as it looks! I did that stupid effect over and over again at home so I'd have it down perfectly, and as soon as I got in front of the class I forgot everything! LOL I was so nervous and shakey and this was in front of classmates who I knew!

Thanks for sharing this well presented tutorial, frankly I believe that texture is one of the most important elements in the digital art it gives you the mood and the atmosphere in which you wish to present your idea in. Best Wishes.
