I really adore Cricket's redesign. I used to think she was retarded (not in the derogatory slur kind of way, I just mean I thought she was literally supposed to be a retarded wolf or something. Slow in the head or born a little differently from other wolves)
Now I know she's just a cute quirky character, normal and clever, not slow or retarded.
Before anyone attacks me on this comment for even mentioning the retarded, one of my brothers has down's syndrome and another was born normal then had a brain aneurysm as a baby which left him retarded. I'm not some jerk who doesn't know what she's talking about and is trying to insult anybody. I just thought Cricket was like my brothers or something the way she was drawn and acted before. She was so different looking from all the other wolves, and they all treated her differently. It made it confusing for me with the experiences I've had growing up in the family I have.
The redesign changes my perception of her and helps me to better understand what the intention is for her character. I also find her more relatable because of that, as before I also somewhat thought she was a cloudcuckoolander (a tv trope for an offbeat character--definition here: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php… )
I really hope this redesign is kept because it really is helpful for understanding what she actually is as a character.

You conveyed that well in the past then because I definitely got it! I really like this update though. It makes her a cutie. It also makes her fit better with this world I think. In a world with killer wolves and stuff it probably would have been harder for her to live very long with what seemed before like a severe disability/impairment. I like her being clever but naive.
