Description
Clack Bat is his name. Character created especially for the Halloween season. In memory of Snookers (my old black cat).Take note of small black iris' and yellow eyes. Dark grey (not pure black) fur, with whisky cheeks, and almost bat-like/devilish ears (but that doesn't mean he's a devil lol). Four whiskers: top left bent, bottom left straight, top right straight, bottom right bent. Pure black nose. Thin body with thin tail which is just a bit pouffy at the end (not like a ball, but it tapers towards the body). Small teeth (like vampire, but not hehe) are visible. Darker under eyes.
He is a cat who loves to play tricks on people and is a bit crazy at times.. But he always messes stuff up and he is the one who ends up paying for it! Haha. He has a little friend possibley!? That little bat thing I doodled up. Maybe, just maybe...
Style of art used: VECTOR!! It's the new style I'm trying out. It's hard at first (and time consuming), but once you get the hang of it, it is a beautiful tool to work with.

it reminds me of my first cat- a black cat (called "peach"), therefore I always have a warm place in my heart for black cats...

Hee hee. I love the "random bat friend" on the side.
Maybe I'll draw some fan-art of Clack Bat for you...considering he's one of the only characters of yours that I haven't drawn yet.

It's the use of the pen tool, and it makes the image resizable.

Yes, my grandparent's cat is black and white, but up close his fur is brown. I remember my cat (who was all black), up close, looked almost greyish, lol.

Ah, memories of old frinds... My dog just passed away about two months ago, and for some reason, this picture really reminded me of her. (Maybe it's because she was black...) But I must admit that this is an awsome picture, with such detail that cannot be ignored

I heard that program is like Photoshop, except "cheaper". Does it really make vectors easier?? How so?

jillybean1104 In reply to kaykaykit [2005-10-22 16:23:27 +0000 UTC]
Well it's programmed to make vectors... the way they explain it at school is Photoshop is for pictures (bmps) and Illustrator is for clipart or vectors. And like you don't have to worry about it going fuzzy if you increase or decrease the size and stuff like that. It's pretty fun.

Yea, that's what I love about vectors (that's why I used them to make this ).

I am newly researching vectors myself in order to snare some extra job-related work in graphic design. In order to do this easier, I will be getting the new Illustrator CS2 program which allows you to take your line art and vectorize it in a single click. You can vector anything they say...in just minutes. Check into it...you'll be amazed at the on-line demos. Would you mind letting me know what you kidna went through to create this? Since you mentioned it was time consuming. And what program do you have for it?

I used Adobe Photoshop CS, with normal vectors (the one where when you make a line, the colour shows up when you draw). Hard to explain..
