Im excited to finally be taking color theory and intro to painting next semester and I had the bright idea to start researching things about both of them now, which resulted into this muddy mess we have here. I read up on different color schemes and what not and one of them had to do with complimentary colors, using one as the main base and the other for mostly everything else.

I don’t have a grasp on color so every time I do anything other than grayscale in turns out to be really desaturated, but this was just a mess. I used violet and yellow as the colors and I couldn’t figure out how to get good skin tones out of just yellows, so I decided to use some violets for the shadows and it just turned out really strange.

Going to experiment more throughout the summer and try and get the hang of this, might try a triad or an analogous one next time.

Even though likeness wasn’t the main focus on this one, it still irritates me that I couldn’t quite get one, we’ll see if anybody can guess who it is.
