Some of you... Like maybe one person... Might remember my first upload ever here on deviantART: [link] Back when I couldn't write an Artist Comment and didn't have any of the drawing stuff I have now, I showed the world one of my character: Shiney the Bat/Echidna hybrid. Despite her not being my first fan character, I've always kept her in my "main characters" list, even though I haven't uploaded much of her at all on here.

Today, Shiney is... different. XD Here I have compiled a series of drawings that show how she got from her first design to the one she has today.

1. Shiney's first ever design. I designed her to be a Knuckles/Rouge lovechild since, like every other 13 years old girl, I was shipping Sonic couples. I hadn't developed her personality back then, but you can still find her original description on the link I put up above.~

2. This one the design Shiney had for the longest period of time, basically almost 5 years, yet I never drew a full body pic of her. XD This doodle is the closest thing I had. With this design she was supposed to be a motherly girl who like doing typical girly things like cleaning and cooking. She was 16 years old or so though. XD But even there she still worked in a kindergarten thing.

3. This is when I first started to dislike Shin's design, she was just too much like Knuckles and Rouge. I was trying to find her a different haircut here. XD

4. Not long after #3 I started doodling anthros. These 3 are just a few sketches I did (more here: [link] ) trying to come up with something that fit her.

5. After a while I decided that a bat wasn't the best species for her so I tried different things. Here Shiney was some sort of squirrel. The face shapes were based on people in my physics class. XD

6. This.. This is, believe it or not, what brought Shiney's design to what it is now. XD The top drawing was done over MSN while I was talking with Marie. XD The fro was just incredibly inspiring so I tried giving Shiney a completely different look. That wasn't too great, so...

7. I made her cute again and made her a goldfish 8D I had prior knowledge about Pearlscale goldfish [link] so I knew some of them had headsacks, which would be a perfect excuse for Shiney's fro thing. XD So her bangs became gills and she traded her bat ears and wings for fins~

8. After a bit, though, I realized that the sweet and docile personality Shiney had really didn't fit in with that fro, so I gave her a round head like a lot of pearlscales have [link] .XD

9. Right now, this is what Shiney is like. There are still some minor details I still need to adjust (like if I want her to have visible knees or not), but that's now who Shin is. Yeah I changed her name ti Shin around here by the way. XD Now Shin has some Japanese-like origins and Shin is a Japanese name. >.>

So yeah that's the evolution. Today Shin is still a very caring lady, always wanting the best for people around her, especially her family and boyfriend. She's also a nervous kind of person, she always wants her house to be squeaky clean and wants to be perfect for others. She also has a pretty weak mind and she can easily be forced to do thing she wouldn't normally do. XD This leads to a lot of problems for her, but I won't go into too much details here.

Shin lives a boring routinely life right now... Yet she has a ton of problems. XD Trust issues with her boyfriend, stress due to her OCD-ness and generally unhappiness with what she's doing in life. XD

I'm still unsure about her clothes, any idea for something that could fit her? She wants to be attractive-looking, but I don't want her to look like a slut. XD
