I actually like rats, although I think I like mice better! I used to hate mice and rats, I was prejudiced against them (except Mickey Mouse and some other mice,) now I love them and think their cute and regret feeling the way i did about mice and rats. I don't like them running around leaving presents or contaminating places and things, especially food, but I like mice and rats!
In fact I don't want mice or rats to be killed if it can be helped, I'd rather it was caught and relocated. I do that with some bugs too, I don't enjoy taking a life, but will kill bees and mosquitoes to keep them from hurting me if they're where they don't belong, like my house!
But I like mice and rats, I think they're cute, especially the white ones!
