Description
Model:Photography:
This image really demonstrates the razor wire depth of field provided by the 1.2 aperture on the Canon 50mm 1.2 L.

Just to say this first, the model is stunning, she makes a great model!
Now that I've said that, lets get to the real critique. I understand the point of blurring out the photo, aside from the eye, was the point, but I personally thinks it draws a way from the photo a little, but that's just personally.
Thinking outside of my personal opinion, the photo is great. It looks a little dark, but the flowers in her hair make up for it for sure. The make-up on her eye is great too. Just something small I noticed, it that on her other eye, it doesn't have as much make-up. Just me nit picking! Sorry! Anyways, fantastic photo, you are a great photographer!

Thank you for the critique! Just to clarify, the 'blurring of the image' is actually in-camera, as I was focusing on her eye with a wide open aperture of f/1.2, and it blurred just about everything else but her eye. Really this was just an experimental move, but it was something I hadn't quite done before. I plan to try more creative methods of focusing in the future.
Thank you again!

Ah, I understand! I thought it might have been something you edited afterwards on the computer. It would be a great effect for wild life, if you think about it!
Your welcome! It's always fun to critique your work! It's sometimes hard to find enough to critique about.

I'm more captivated by the model than the photograph which means you did a very good job capturing her on film.
I really like this photo.

Thank you! I'm glad you think so.
I kept going back and forth to this image, because I wanted to use it - but the focus was a bit too strange for most people. Once I toned down the colors, it seemed to bring her more to life.

Strange is good. I like strange. But whatever you did, it worked.
