Description

Florida Hardwood Swamp in winter. Sabal Palm’s green is resistant to winter’s color washout. So for a season they are the star of the color show until spring, when they fade into the background. They are also resistant to salt and hurricane winds so they survive other types of washout. What they don’t survive is their terminal bud being cut out to make a kind of cabbage food. Without that bud they can not grow more leaves and they die.
