Description
This animation is about facing your barriers. In what ever you want to achieve. All the things that may hold you back. You have to know your limits or weaknesses, turn around and confront them. In my case it was laziness, lack of motivation and so I represented this as rust, (you get rusty when you don't use your talents). So I tried to confront it by animating more. This animation helped me break this rust literally too. So whatever it is ; disbelief, lack of confidence, others telling you you cant do it, challenges. If your truly determined you can reach your potential by just confronting these things. Everyones capable of achieving so much in life, but they never think they can. Make use of your talents, your light, your true potential and be determined whatever it may be, all it takes is the determination to sacrifice and give all you have until you reach your goal.
As you improve and get stronger, so will the challenges in front of you get bigger, stronger, but overcoming these bigger challenges is what brings true joy.It is when we grow.
Even if you don't reach your goal exactly. You'll live a life without regrets. I hope you can see this. This was inspired by a famous Poem.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others."

some really impressive effects stuff- some of the choreography felt a little sluggish, but it's all solid solid work.
impressive dedication.

Thanks alot Dojang appreciate it. Yeah I agree some parts were sluggish just to sync with music sometimes. I need to work on that alot I'll keep it in mind.

it's mostly spacing stuff- rather than timing. like in RL a punch flies out and accelerates- in some of the earlier shots, your punches kinda hold a speed rather than accelerating. you should be able to hit the beats with the same timing just by spacing it differently.

Oh right cool, I see and understand I always tried to get better at understanding movements but end up doing like 5000 effects around one punch... although the earlier shots of this animation were as long as like 3 years ago. I should try something to just improve at movements, thanks for the crit super helpful. I Hope you can crit my new stuff

My girlfriend dumped me, just two hours ago. I felt terrible, i didn't know what to do, i don't have any new booksor games and siting on the net just reminded me bout time we spend chating with each other or listening to the same song at two different places at once. I was really sad.
And then, suddenly, i thought: "Just how many times did you watched "Breaking Rust"? How many friends were annoyed y me when I told them to watch this animation? It didn't make any difference? really?"
I didn't want to watch anything with happines, but i launched this animation. And I'm smiling. I'm fine with it, not angry any more.

I saw an episode of Thundercats that reminds me of this animation. Lion-O was fighting Mumm-Ra, who was covered in an armor of evil. Lion-O had two magic stones that he put on his gauntlet. Then he was covered in a golden armor, and before he began fighting he said,"A light to end the darkness."

What's the proverb at the end? I'm trying to get it so I can write it down in my Code of Honor book. It's full of proverbs that a dragon would follow.

Nowadays people say that everything is "epic". They just "like" sth and call it that way, wasting the real power that this word obtained last few years.
If somebody asked, i would answer that there are just few productions which deserve to be called like that. Movies like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann or songs like World is Saved. And of course animations like Breaking Rush.
I watched it ten times and it's still awesome. Let everybody try their best as you did. Especially those without patience or energy. That was Epic.

I first saw this on Newgrounds, I was blown away by the animation. But, aside from the ability to watch it in a bigger size on NG, I think it's better on here (I don't really know how to explain it.)
The animation is very clean and done with incredible amounts of smooth animated movements and effects. I really like the way most (if not practically all) of the moves synch with the song (especially how there's a big hit every time they say "Break". )
The song itself was very fitting for this animation. The words, the beat, the rythme, the meanings... it all fits so great together!
Then, you top off the whole thing with the very true/deep meanings directly in the animation as well as the artist comment! (I too suffer from that "rust" of laziness and lack of motivation, but I am always fighting to overcome these obstacles too.)
All in all, this is a great work of art on your part that you should be very proud of for making. Keep up the excellent work!

You have said exactly what I've been thinking ever since I first saw this. I too suffer a bit from that "rust" of laziness, and I am working to kick its ass, just like the light in the animation! XD
