From quite some time ago....just rediscovered it.(and though I've never made a comment request before, I ask that there be no "shaving" comments on this....aesthetics is one thing, personal preferences is another)

I personally think that pubic hair (especially a lot of it) was very interesting aestetically. It covers that area and makes it impossible to see what's under it; which means that, even if the woman is nude, she's still not exposed, which also gives the woman a certain degree of power and secureness. This intriguing contrast always allows for a really neat touch in nude photography.

Although you wished for no shaving comments, I just have to. I think the not-shaving is the eye-catcher of this pic. It makes it look so natural. (so this was intended to be a well-willing comment on not-shaving)

Printing this kind of thing is always tricky....Shot with a 25red filter then in printing keeping the highlight just under white.....took a number of tries....

Personally I find the little patchie of fuzby to be beautifully profound. From this view it appears to be both an aching emotional void and it illustrates the lack of sexual fulfillment facing many women due to social constraints. "When your wet only because of the rain." The anticlimactic :liquify

+the high contrast (but i love the fact that it is no pure white, but a slightly off-tone) renders her into some kind of graphic sign. her hierathic pose does not make this strained in any way, on the contrary, she appears and transmits an ethereal, glowing peace. yes, it is also in her expression, very much in her own thoughts, oblivious of the viewer. the camera is turned invisible, which is as it should be. (it's so contrasted i keep thinking of Man Ray, but with the romanticism of a Cartier-Bresson... but no, this (you) is its own thing). the hands, which could be so expressive, are cropped. so all the work is done by her face, which in its (almost) unexpressiveness (but how the ghost of a smile, or even the thought of it seems to linger in her) adds much to the cleanliness of the image... and by her position, which draws a white figure on the dark background (beautifully textured) that carries some symbolic weight... it's like those positions from balinese dancers, with heavy ritual meaning behind. and then, by the handling of the image, which allows those things to happen. the smart cropping, the composition, the forced contrast, the concept.
a footnote on pubic hair: shaved women were an accepted subject for the fine arts from its heyday. it's the hair that is regarded as offensive, that speaks of the carnality and desire, the hair is erogenous. you can't sculpt pubes on Carrara marble, you won't find them in Rubens. it's not just porn-culture. it goes all the way back to the cross and the sword.+

i love the position, you take very good pictures, you could just skip the too mouch editing of them, for example this is a very nice pitcture, not too blurry and stuff.. but lots of respect anyway! peace and ease

Thank you....actually there is no editing in this one at all (unless you mean the oil work in the others). It's a straight scan of the print itself....again...all just a personal call. I try to keep a balance between the oilgraphs and the straight photos. But thank you for the reminder....

I LOVE the contrast and you're exposure on everything here. Her face has just the right amount of detail, and I love that you can only slightly see her nipples and that her pubic hair is so dark makes it so impactful.
