Description I had NO idea what category to put this in under. >.0

Okay, so I decided to make myself something we call a mailbox sign at work, and got the great idea of taking pics while working so I can show off what I do. =3 Sorry for the bad quality, but the pics were taken with my phone and the lighting wasn't as good as I wanted.

Anyway, usually we make black text on silver or gold background, but I wanted to test out something fancy instead! Before I got to work on this, I decided on the text I wanted to use (in this case, my name) and had that all done on the computer.

1 :: I got out the silver foil I wanted to use for the text. This is put in a large machine that cuts out the texts and images made on the computer. A very fancy printer, basically.

2 :: I got the measures for the text and put in an order for the mechanical department to make me the sign I needed. This is 3 mm transparent plexi glass that we use when making these types of signs. =3 Still with it's protective wrapping on, of course. XD

3 :: After printing out the text, I start removing all the foil around it that is not to be used. Yes, I printed out several versions of my name, cause I couldn't decide on which to use. XD

4 :: This is after I've removed all the foil around the text. =3 My name written with 5 different scripts. XD And yush, it's mirrored, cause it's going on a transparent sign.

5 :: Next step is to put the application tape on it. The tape will be used to transfer the text on to the sign. =3

6 :: I've chosen the version I wanted and have cut it out, as well as removed the protective wrapping around the sign. The red lines on are there to help me get the text aligned properly on the center of the sign. Now I just have to put it on!

7 :: Yush! I put the text on the back of the sign, so when you see it from the front you see the actual text as it should be seen. =3 Looking good, eh? Now to find the colour I want for the background! We use the same type of foil and just stick it over the text on the back.

8 :: So, I decided I wanted black background. And, after putting it on, and then adding a white foil over it to make the back look pretty, I finished my mailbox sign! <3

And these signs can be put on your mailbox, front door, bedroom door, or wherever else you want to put it. ^w^

So, this concludes my explanation of one of the things I do at work.
