Description Spiral was a complicated creature to make since it doesn't look like it should physically be able to walk. I did first think of making a perpetual flight cycle, but then it wouldn't fit the rest of the walks, so I slinkied it!

Me on tundra prancing cycle sees this one: "look at slinky over here xD"
This is too funny. I wonder if the Windsinger walks like that lol

I think Windsinger might've taken a long time to try and walk with more dignity, but every so often the slinky pops back in his step.

Thank you, I really just had the idea of "What if this dragon is just always a spiral?" and went with it.

i would imagine the spirals would kinda walk or fly like chinese dragons but when they are still they become spring like

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Khaarma In reply to Arvemis [2015-07-14 17:43:58 +0000 UTC]

Yes but due to Imperials already being Chinese dragons essentially, I already would have something that moves in that manner. The goal of the project was to make every walk different, and spiral gave me a fantastic opportunity to try something a little absurd.

Thank you, I really try to make each one unique. Sometimes pushing the uniqueness to the point of absurdity, but I love it!

*goes to your page*
*sees a husky one*

Yep. You keep it going.

I also see you do 3D sculpt commissions... which I could never ever afford . Not saying anything is wrong. Only saying that confirms what I believe that a 3D sculpture is so much more complex than a traditional one that it's almost impossible for a human to make, hence why a 3D sculpt costs like 15 times what a picture does.
So I'd never be able to do a 3D sculpt in my life. :/ ._.

Hmm....Spirals are my favourite dragon, yes they are strange but, I think they walk on ground like caterpillar , not like that. Im really sorry but if you stretch to the plane this spiral , he has twisted legs on the other side !Β

Khaarma In reply to CrayzyWolfmoon [2015-02-21 22:36:20 +0000 UTC]

I'm aware, but for the fun of having a slinky dragon I chose to allow it.

HigginstheAwesome [2014-12-16 19:44:25 +0000 UTC]

This makes me laugh with how absurd but fitting it looks. Spirals don't really seem like they'd do well on the ground and I think this perfectly illustrates why.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Khaarma In reply to HigginstheAwesome [2014-12-19 06:26:19 +0000 UTC]

I really think they'd land as infrequently as possible, but if they saw a parade of dragons strutting their stuff, I think they'd be inclined to join along.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HigginstheAwesome In reply to Khaarma [2014-12-19 17:45:26 +0000 UTC]

I definitely agree. They are strange little dragons.

A-Blue-Bubble In reply to HigginstheAwesome [2015-04-18 10:34:54 +0000 UTC]

well they do originate from the windsingers domain, it's no wonder the ground is not their cuppa tea. One of my favourite dragons though

HigginstheAwesome In reply to A-Blue-Bubble [2015-04-19 20:29:21 +0000 UTC]

That they do! And their heritage is made pretty darn clear enough since they look like mini-Windsingers. They are awesome.

xMaalikx [2014-12-15 20:31:17 +0000 UTC]

I always though that they would have more of a slither type of walk more then keep curled so much when walking... If you think about it, them staying coiled could be more hard then good when it comes to self defense since it would reduce their speed.

Eruvykitty [2014-12-15 19:22:42 +0000 UTC]

Ah... While wonderfully animated, for sure... The legs appear to be backwards in relation to the direction of the spine. Am I mistaken?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Khaarma In reply to Eruvykitty [2014-12-15 20:30:39 +0000 UTC]

The dark part is it's belly.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eruvykitty In reply to Khaarma [2014-12-15 21:13:31 +0000 UTC]

That is the way I saw it. A silver spiral, with the dark gray belly. It seems like the neck and the body are coming off the wrong sides of the shoulders, though. The neck/head coming out of the left side, and the body from the right. But, with the way the legs bend, it should be the other way around.

Khaarma In reply to Eruvykitty [2014-12-15 21:27:27 +0000 UTC]

OH! got it. You are right... I'm going to have to file that under artistic licence >_< Not sure how I missed it but I'd have to entirely redo the cycle to fix it.

Eruvykitty In reply to Khaarma [2014-12-15 23:25:21 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry! I didn't want to bring you down or anything, but, ah, thought you may want to know before perhaps selling them or something. Maybe you could flip them and have it prance in reverse? Eheh..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Khaarma In reply to Eruvykitty [2014-12-16 01:19:09 +0000 UTC]

I am happy for the criticism, I just feel kinda dumb overlooking that when I pride myself on curious but accurate anatomy structures. Ah well, art is weird.

Masqueadrift [2014-12-15 08:43:01 +0000 UTC]

Cute! I agree with the ferret walk too. I always imagine them walking and running the way a ferret does. x3

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Khaarma In reply to Masqueadrift [2014-12-15 17:18:31 +0000 UTC]

I did consider ferret, but i'm planning on ferret for the Imperial dragons and part of the project is to make no two walk cycles the same general thing. So between Spiral and Imperial I figured Spiral would be the more odd out of the two.

TDLBallistic [2014-12-15 08:29:02 +0000 UTC]

I feel like an inch-worm walk might've worked better... or a ferret... but this is freakin' hilarious to watch.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Khaarma In reply to TDLBallistic [2014-12-15 17:17:25 +0000 UTC]

It is an inch-worm walk, just twisted instead of straight. I did want to make it hilarious because like the Tundra, Spirals strike me as one of the humorous races.Β

Khaarma In reply to Jastoz [2014-12-15 17:23:12 +0000 UTC]

I hope so, though I do have to admit Windsinger's babies are kind of clutzy when landbound. At least they can now join in the prancer parade without being scolded for just zipping over everyone's heads!

Rainbow-Foxy [2014-12-15 05:52:43 +0000 UTC]

Well that's interesting. XD I always thought they would just kinda snake around along the floor super fast due to their extreme energy. Kinda like how lizards and skinks get around.

I prefer this version to the whole still curled up thing.
