To those of you who are yelling titties your very immature and dont need to be on this lovely persons account because this is here to help people and you are making the female anatomy sexualized. In the first reference sheet they mentions they werent going to put a mature block on it due to there beleives on male and female nipples are both the same. I also agree With that opinion. So those of you who have made breasts sexualized especially in this manner of topic, should be ashamed. Breasts are breasts so what, if you want it sexualized go watch porn or some shit instead of looking at reference sheets

eh... It really isn't stupid, and nipples/bare butts are nudity, so... Nude anything has to be mature. It's still allowed, so it doesn't contradict itself. I've seen pics of flaccid penises... I was pretty bugged by that, but they're still allowed--with a mature tag. Some ppl are more prudey, and, tbh? There are kids on this page. Little boys' mom's might not want them to see drawings of nipples, and it isn't our right to force our opinion on them and their raising. Tutorials and bases also don't often have nipples shown, so that might be another thing. They're usually without definition. THe circles of inferance is enough for some little boys to get...quite excited, let's say? XD

you know, they also do it because a lot of people just don't /want/ to see nudity here, so it's easier for them to avoid it, by clicking the "no mature content" option.
but really: the only people who won't be able to see your deviation /right away/, are either: people younger than 18, and people who /choose/ not to see mature content.

I would LOVE to see this but for a male torso 8D I have a character who's chunkier but I've always had a hard time getting those skin folds down right. it would be really helpful to see how others draw such a body type as a reference

I would say Google is a good place to look, but at the same time you almost never know what you'll find when you search that kinda stuff on Google Images.

yeah, google helps to start out, I think. But seeing someone draw the muscles and build can be a good experience too. sometimes seeing the sketch version is better than photos, ya know?

true, but also remember that when you're referencing any other draw/painted/rendered art for a drawing, you'll be referencing their mistakes and adding them to your own, so it's best to use photos for accuracy but drawn refs for clarification!

true, but it's not like I'm tracing their work or anything and that's why it's good to have multiple artists with different styles. The references are to see how one perceives the human anatomy through sketch, not something always easily obtainable for every person. seeing 3 or 4 different tutorials on how to sketch muscles from 3 or 4 different artists can assist in the thinking process when studying photos of the same anatomy. Photos can only take you so far, its the mentality of the sketch artist and their interpretation that's key, ya know?

oh, definitely! that is a really good way to go about it, mainly when it comes to muscles. However, I will say with how fat rests, you should keep in mind that there are so many different ways that fat can sit on the body. Muscles are the same, but since fat is a much more amorphous solid than muscle is, it tends to have more variance. It also can depend on the person because people collect fat in different places (for example, fat collects at my thighs on me, but on my grandmother it collects at her tummy, on my mom it collects at the hips and lower tummy, and a few friends of mine have it where it naturally collects at the chest but not much of anywhere else). I have some tumblr pages of body type/anatomy references saved to my browser if you want me to send them to you!
