Description
on November 3rd,2017 I went on my first trail ride since my trail ride accident last year and I did pretty good! Jessie was such a good girl! She only spooked at a few things like the streets signs, a large drainage pipe and a light post. (She was like "Oh my gosh! What is that?! It's going to eat me!" She'd hold her head high and stare at it while snorting loudly.) i just walked her since she hadn't been out much because of her injury. I worked on getting over my fear of going down hills and I did pretty good! I still need to work on it though, but I'm doing better with it.We have been working her on getting her strength back so she's improving greatly. She's been getting the correct lead more and more without the use of the lunge whip. <3 She and Phoenix both got massages the other day and you can see and feel the difference! They are both much looser now when they move and aren't as tight. Jessie still needs a few more done because she is still showing some discomfort when dismounted. The farrier comes out on the 29th to re-shoe her and we are hoping this is the last time she needs the pad on her foot.
This picture was from the other day. It's been cold and raining(it even snowed a little!) So they've been blanketed and have been staying inside a lot. Phoenix gets sick easily when he is cold and wet. We are currently looking for a rain sheet for him so he can go outside more. Jessie has been inside a lot due to the rain and the mud. She was outside all day one day when it was really muddy and it has sucked part of her pad off. So we are only turning her out only when the pasture is dry. (We don't want to have to sedate her twice in the same month since she was sedated every two weeks for three months during her operations and risk an overdose or death) But she is doing good and is still 100%!
