Hotevilla is the name of the Hopi Village started by Martin's uncle in protest against the Hopis at Old Orabi who began going with the white man's ways in 1917. Hotevilla was established as a village dedicated to preserve the traditional ways of the Hopis. Of course they are not completely exempt from all modern conveniences at Hotevilla, for example Grandfater Martin has a refrigerators but no electric lights and no running water.

Do you recall what his name is? I've spent some time on third Mesa (Oraibi) but not so much time at Hotevilla. I actually have spent most of my time on first Mesa Walpi, Hano, Sichomovi area. The Hopi are amazing people with an amazing past....and future!

This man must be a beautiful person. The look on his face is so full of peace and love.
Did you learn anything about 'Wonkantonka' from him?
(perhaps I'm being stupid here, but I once watched a western, and Wonkantonka was what the Indian name for God was!)

He wants to marry me. We did discuss spiritual matters but I really was not looking for him to teach me things about God. I feel fortunate to have spent so much time with him. He is a pure, sweet, kind-hearted person.
